Ok I'm going to try and recap the week as best as I can, but forgive me if its short and sweet, because well we didn't do much.
Sunday -
We left the house at about 8, made it about 3 hours into our trip when the boys needed to eat, so we stopped and fed them, we all got some fresh air and stretched out muscles. Then it was back on the road. Made it to the fair at about 1 and got the camper all set up and pretty much just hung out the rest of the day. Went and looked at my nieces cows and saw some old friends.
Monday -
The boys slept fantastic last night! The best they ever have. Another pretty uneventful day. To be honest I really can't tell you what we did. The boys spent a good amount of time in the stroller, which is fine because it puts them to sleep in 2.2 seconds.
Tuesday -
John worked for my dad all week, so it was Truck Pulls, too loud for the boys to hang out with Daddy, Grandpa, and Uncle Mark. So I spent the day in the camper watching movies (it rained in the morning.) Then went and watched my nieces show their cows, Emily got Grand Champion with her Dairy Feeder Steer...you have never seen such a big smile!
Wednesday -
The Baby Show was in the morning - for those not familiar it is where they judge babies and pick a winner based on cuteness. Not something I was really going to do, because I know my boys are the cutest, but I was peer pressured so we entered the boys. Only they put all twins together, so they had to compete against girls! Well so there were a set of girl twins about 2, a set of boy twins about 1.5, and a set of boy/girl twins about 1, and my boys. Clearly the cutest, who can resist a baby? Oh and the girls were giving mean scowling faces, in the pretty pink matching dresses. I refused to dress the boys alike, as they are different little people, they plaid overalls (one in blue the other in orange and matching shirts). Well the judge said "they aren't identical." Like it was some sort of requirement to be identical lol. Needless to say the boys lost and were beat by the girl twins (can't beat girls - they might as well learn it now) But they tied for 3rd lol, and got a big $6...it will go into their college fund. At any rate it was silly and I really don't care if the old lady judges didn't pick them because I refused to dress them the same and because they aren't identical. Plus it was cold so I had them all wrapped up in blankets.
Anyways lol...ok so maybe I'm a little scorned that the scowling girls won, but they kept giving mean faces. Anyways the evening was some stunt bike thing, but we got to spend the evening with John and walked around and got some awesome tractor pictures for their room.
Thursday -
The Christian Rock Band was coming so there was set up required for that. I was able to help my brother with some set up that I normally would have done thanks to the boys taking a nap in the stroller. Again it was too loud so me and the boys spent the evening in the camper, we fell asleep pretty early.
Friday -
We slept in while John was up early to help my dad. I was able to watch about 2 minutes of the Woodmen's Contest before they started with the Chainsaws and me and the boys had to leave. I had my sister-in-law watch them, while I ran for more formula. In the evening was the Rodeo, we all called it an early night including John, and got to spend some time together.
Saturday -
I slept in with the boys, we ended up staying in the camper most of the day, loud in the arena where my dad's office is. So we hung out until about 11, went and ran some errands on the fair grounds with the boys. Little John flirted with the ladies in the office while Luke slept. Then in the evening my mom watched the boys in the camper, so I could help with the demo derby. It's my favorite part of the whole week.
Sunday -
Pack up and go home...it's so depressing and relaxing all in one. It signals the end of summer, the end of fair and time to get back into the swing of things. For me it also signals time to go back to work. Yet at the same time, the week is over and its back to the regular ho-hum of your every day life, that is for the most part relaxing compared to fair.
So for those that don't know me, yes this post makes me sound very much like a hick, I don't classify myself as hick, just a good down home country girl.
I have pics that I will get around to uploading and posting sometime.
